The Museum of the Future | Everything You Need to Know

By now, you’ve spotted a magnificent oval-shaped skyscraper right next to DIFC if you’re traveling along Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. Yep. Right now, the structure is the most magnificent on the entire planet. For good reason, the Museum Of The Future is Dubai’s newest and most popular cultural landmark; it is devoted to examining the potential and risks of our time, no less for a better future.

On February 22, 2022, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum officially opened the doors to the world’s first Museum Of The Future. Yes, 22.2.22! The gallery has already been ranked among the top 14 galleries in the world.

This masterpiece, created by Killla Designs, has several distinctive characteristics:

  • An estimated 1,000 molds that support the fiberglass and stainless steel structure will be cut using computer-controlled manufacturing machines.

  • The museum also looks into sustainability and the future of biodiversity. The museum will be the first of its kind in the Middle East to receive a Platinum Certification for Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design, the highest rating for green buildings in the world, powered by 4,000 megawatts of solar energy in partnership with the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority! Over 100 plant types in the garden illustrate the rich cultural heritage of the UAE.

  • Several of Sheikh Mohammed’s most famous quotations are written in 14 km of Arabic calligraphy that was created by Emirati artist Mattar bin Lahej.

Experience of The Museum of the Future

The following is a list of everything you may look forward to seeing in the Museum of the Future:

Entry does not require a PRC test or immunization documentation. The experience should last two to three hours on average. The focus of the Museum is on providing visitors with an immersive experience. Visitors to the museum first ascend to a temporary space station via a lift. Then, when they turn to face the planet, they notice a problem: the planet is ill. Every visitor is entrusted with solving the world’s issues and is given a role to perform (e.g., doctor, teacher).

Brendan McGetrick, the museum’s creative director, claims that the institution’s ability to offer such an immersive experience is precisely what sets it apart. Ever consider implants that could read minds? or appetite suppressants? Both are indeed feasible! Additionally, visitors can see models of these cutting-edge technologies. The Tomorrow and Today exhibition examines how businesses, researchers, and designers are responding to the most pressing issues of the day in partnership with public and private partners.

A fascinating exhibition about how the moon might be used as a source of renewable energy for the world is another entertaining activity. Additionally, visitors can take part in a mixed-reality recreation of the Amazon jungle, which includes a variety of species.

The Museum of the Future also offers a kids’ area where young visitors may explore and take part in video game-inspired activities to promote imaginative and forward-thinking problem-solving. The museum will soon launch a membership system that will allow locals to visit it frequently as well as a modest retail space with futuristic features.

The Museum of the Future is more than just a static exhibit. It serves as a platform for learning and research! They intend to routinely hold several conferences and other gatherings at which thought leaders from the most influential industries can discuss their predictions for the future.

Every day from 10 am to 6 am, the museum is available to the public of all ages. Visit their website for additional details.
