1. Lahore has a fierce history
From 1163 to 1186 it has been the capital of Ghaznavid Dynasty which was a Persianate Muslim Dynasty. It was attacked by The Mongols repeatedly during the 14th century. Lahore was also part of the Mughal Empire during which its infrastructure was greatly glorified. The beauty of Lahore also inspired the English poet John Milton.
2. Metropolitan that lives big!
Leading banking, commercial and industrial center, it is the capital of Punjab Province, also known as the country’s capital in terms of culture. Many Punjabis say that one who hasn’t been to Lahore, has not seen anything yet. Lahore’s culture, its music, literature, art and, dances is unique and something people fall in love with upon their visit.
3. Lahore Fort
Counted amongst the five most famous historical forts in Pakistan, it is a great example of Mughal architecture. It was built partially by Akbar, then extended by the next three emperors. This fort is decorated with marble. This fort experienced the rise and fall of many emperors.
4. City of Gardens
There are about 143 parks and gardens in Lahore, as it is famous for greenery and having the most beautiful parks. One of the biggest parks in Lahore is the Gulshan-e- Iqbal Park, one of the best parks to enjoy with family. Shalimar Garden was constructed in 1641 during Shah Jahan’s reign. The ornamental ponds and waterfalls with the elegant views are truly unmatchable.
4. One-of-a-kind Dining Experience
Punjabi culture being all about the delicious food, Lahore is known as the capital food city. The most iconic, mouth-watering desi food you can try are the Gosht Karachi, Paaye, Beef Khoya Tikka, Tandoori Chicken, and Sarson da saag. Falooda is famous in the desert and we can go on and on when it comes to the food items in Lahore.
