Several Types of Luggage Are Currently Prohibited in Saudi Airports

All travelers in a Saudi airport are advised on the types of bags that are prohibited. Passengers are advised not to travel with particular bags, according to the King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah.

The airport advised travelers which luggage would not be permitted on airplanes via social media.

Unacceptable Luggage

The airport listed six items that won’t be permitted onboard aircraft in an infographic that was posted to its Twitter account:

  • Bags tied with rope
  • Cloth-wrapped bags
  • Round and irregularly shaped luggage
  • Luggage that exceeds ticket weight limits
  • Cloth luggage
  • Luggage with long straps.

To assist travelers in streamlining their trip plans and avert delays, the airport also provided travel advice.

JED advised travelers to get electronic boarding passes before heading to the airport, carry their passports or identity cards, and arrive at the airport two hours before a domestic flight and three hours before an international flight. Travelers should also make sure their luggage fits within the weight restrictions listed on their tickets.
