Now you can plan a trip to Northern Pakistan without worrying about the crowd and taking a long trip to Skardu or flight operations being booked completely because now you will be able to get to Skardu directly. .Witnessing an increasing number of travelers’ interest in flights to Northern Pakistan and specifically Skardu, the Government of Pakistan has given a green light on issuing NOCs ( No Objection Certificates) to the private airlines to meet such rising demand. Raja Nasir, the Minister of tourism in Gilgit Baltistan, confirmed this by saying “Air Blue is ready to start flights for Skardu from mid-August.” He also added that “ If any private airlines want to arrive in Gilgit Baltistan, we will extend full facilitation”.
According to him, just in May 2021, around 0.7 million local & international tourists flew to Northern Areas to enjoy the mesmerizing views, valleys, and weather of this heavenly region.
Currently every week, three flights from Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Islamabad, and Multan are operational through Pakistan’s official carrier PIA. While confirming that 2 additional runways are completed which means more flights can be handled at once, the Minister also ensured that the infrastructure is renovated in such a manner up to the international standard that it will be able to accommodate and handle the tourists in the best possible way, and welcome international flights carriers sooner as well. This is exciting for all the adventurers with Skardu on their travel list as they can have a comfortable trip without any hassle.
