Deosai Plains

Deosai, with an elevation of 4,114 meters above sea level, is the world’s second-highest plateau. Also known as the roof of the world, this plain spreads over 3000 square kilometers. This plain is still preserved and there are regulations in place, making it naturally stunning.  Deosai plain is located in the western Himalayas in Gilgit-Baltistan. You can also witness a range of wildlife species of butterflies and flowers. This place is famous for its rich flora and fauna.

With icy winds, deafening silence, thunderstorms,  the wildlife presence, and the clouds so low that you can almost touch them, Deosai plains are really something unique and magical. You forget everything and have a relaxing moment here. This place is also super instagrammable, if you love taking shots for your feed.

You can also see the snow-capped peak of Nanga Parbat which is just breathtaking. You can visit Sheosar lake which is the heart of the Deosai plain. During the springs, traditionally fish is served for food combined with various spices.

You can access Deosai, from Skardu district in the north, Astore District, and Galtari Kharmang District.
